To keep rugs looking as good as new for longer, they need to be cleaned regularly. In rugs that are not cleaned for a long time, dust settles between the pile yarns and into the base.
Rugs should be cleaned daily and regularly with a vacuum cleaner, using the appropriate rug attachment.
Rugs must never be beaten or shaken out; beating can cause permanent damage to the fibres of your rug.
RUGS MUST NEVER BE WASHED. WASHED RUGS ARE NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. Use a suitable rug shampoo, work it into a foam and wipe the rug with the foam.
After cleaning, the rug should, if possible, be dried quickly outdoors in the sun, and must not be laid on the floor before you are sure it is completely dry.
Rugs must never be scrubbed with a brush while being cleaned.
Wet or damp rugs can go mouldy because of the natural fibres they contain. Keep rugs away from moisture and water.
Apart from rug shampoo, no chemicals (bleach, hydrochloric acid, laundry soap, dish detergent, strong stain removers, etc.) should be used to clean rugs.
Take care that rugs are not exposed to direct sunlight for long periods. Rugs exposed to sunlight for a long time may fade and lose their sheen.
Keep rugs away from stoves and similar heat-emitting appliances.
Furniture such as coffee tables and sofas can leave permanent marks on your rug because of their weight, so periodically change the position of the items on it. The areas of your rug that are walked on most will wear faster than the unused areas; rotating your rug periodically will prevent marks from forming.
The yarns of long-pile rugs may loosen over time with use.
Rugs that will not be used for a long time can be stored in a place away from moisture after being dry-cleaned with a vacuum cleaner and aired. As folded rugs may develop permanent creases, rugs should be rolled up and stored upright.
To keep stains on your rug from becoming permanent, act quickly. Stains left untreated can become permanent.
Because of the fibre properties of polypropylene (PP) rugs, matting may appear on the rug surface within a shorter time. Therefore, remember that PP rugs are more suitable for areas that are not heavily used.
In rugs made of cut fibres such as acrylic, shedding and dusting may occur because of the fibre properties. If such rugs are cleaned frequently with a powerful vacuum cleaner, shedding will drop to a minimum after a short time.
Rugs (unless otherwise stated) are made for indoor use. They are not made for use outdoors such as in gardens or parks.
Differences may be observed between the colours of two rugs purchased at different times.
